Can’t Sleep, Can’t Train, Can’t Stop
- Outstanding General Sports Writing – Shortlisted
Can’t Sleep, Can’t Train, Can’t Stop chronicles Andys attempt to complete two Ironman triathlons six weeks apart, a challenge not for the faint hearted. Life has changed and this new dad must adapt to late nights and nappies whilst training for the greatest sporting challenge of his middle aged life.
Andy Holgate completed his first Ironman distance race, The Big Woody, in 2007. He has since completed five Ironman races and will be facing his sixth this summer. His first book, Can’t Swim, Can’t Ride, Can’t Run, was a UK top 10 sports book, and a number 1 Kindle sports book. It saw Andy nominated for Best New Writer at the 2012 British Sports Book Awards, where he was the only non-journalist/sports star to receive recognition. It recently won the Best Book Award at the 2014 Running Awards.
His second book : Can’t Sleep, Can’t Train, Can’t Stop was published in 2013 and continues Andy’s inspirational journey from where Can’t Swim, Can’t Ride, Can’t Run left off, chronicling his attempt to complete two Ironman triathlons six weeks apart – and it’s a genuinely inspirational story for rookie or experienced triathletes.
