He’s Here, He’s There: Ipswich Town Football Club – The John Wark Era 1973 – 1996

by Neil Prentice with John Wark

John Wark was a British football icon for three decades. He is also one of only 50 British players to have appeared in a top ten Ballon d’Or placing.

Described by his former manager Sir Bobby Robson as, ‘An extraordinary player,’ his incredible football story has been brought to life here through a collection of words, images, souvenirs and ephemera.

Neil Prentice has worked in the communications industry for over thirty years. When writing and producing books he comes alive, combining three of his passions, storytelling, high-end design and football.

Prentice’s ambition is to create a whole new genre of sporting publication – one that brings together a combination of words and images to capture moments in time.

From growing up in poverty in Glasgow, to becoming a star of European football. John Wark is a former PFA Player of the Year, who enjoyed a glittering career, earning FA and UEFA Cup winner’s medals with Ipswich and league championship success at Liverpool. He also appeared alongside Michael Caine, Sylvester Stallone and Pele in the classic football film Escape to Victory.
