The Game Changer

by Baroness Sue Campbell DBE

The powerful saga of one woman’s refusal to take no for an answer and her quest to change lives through sport.

Sue Campbell may be the former Director of Women’s Football at the FA, having presided over a blossoming of the sport, but she’s always been a trailblazer. From the stellar 2012 London Olympics to the Lionesses lifting the Euros, one person links the nation’s sporting glories. No-one else has done more to put others on pedestals and change lives through sport.

Sue has been creating change all her life. Because it was as a young PE teacher on Manchester’s Moss Side that she first saw the power of sport to transform lives, when she persuaded a hard-to-reach class of girls to start their own dance troupe. This is a story – like the woman herself – that will change lives.

Dame Susan Campbell, Baroness Campbell of Loughborough, DBE is a British sports administrator who was Chair of UK Sport between 2003 and 2013. She was also the Director of Women’s Football at the FA, and has presided over a blossoming of the sport culminating in the Lionesses’ Euros success and the World Cup final. She is currently the chair of England Netball.
